CACVA Program Specialist
Job Title: Program Specialist for Multidisciplinary Teams/Forensic Interviewers
Location: Hybrid (work from home with occasional travel)
About Us: CACVA is dedicated to advocating for the rights and well-being of children.
We provide support, education, and resources to the 19 Child Advocacy Centers across
Virginia to ensure every child has access to a comprehensive, trauma-informed and
evidence-based response to child abuse allegations. Our team is passionate about
making a difference in the lives of children and their families.
Job Summary: We are seeking a motivated and organized part-time (20 hours/week)
Program Specialist to join our team. This position will support the development and
delivery of training for our 19 Child Advocacy Centers and their multidisciplinary teams.
This role involves traveling to various locations across the state three times a year to
facilitate training sessions for ChildFirst Forensic Interview Training and ensure the
smooth execution of our educational initiatives. The Program Specialist will also work
with social media platforms to advertise and support CACVA’s programming and
mission.
Starting Salary: $26.92/hour, $28,000 annually.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in the planning, coordination, and implementation of training programs.
Travel to different locations within the state to coordinate training sessions.
Prepare training materials, including presentations, handouts, and other
resources.
Support trainers during sessions by managing logistics, setting up equipment,
and providing administrative assistance.
Collect and analyze feedback from training participants to improve future
sessions.
Maintain accurate records of training activities and participant attendance.
Collaborate with the training team to develop new training content and update
existing materials.
Provide support in organizing and promoting training events.
Qualifications:
College coursework in education, social work, or a related field preferred.
Previous experience in training, education, or a nonprofit setting is a plus.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Ability to travel within the state.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Zoom, Canva
and social media platforms.
